The Quebec Metropolis Centre – Immigration and Metropolis (QMC-IM) is an interuniversity research consortium consisting of six Quebec universities: the Institut national de recherche scientifique – Centre Urbanisation Culture Société; HEC Montréal; Concordia University; McGill University; Université de Montréal; and Université de Sherbrooke.

QMC-IM is one of the five canadian Metropolis centres of excellence supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and a consortium of federal partners within the framework of the national Metropolis Project (1996-2012).

The Centre’s mandate

is to foster improved coordination of immigration and integration research with the needs of public policy and stakeholders.
